From a young age, Geraldine Swagerty felt called to feed people. Today, the result of that calling can be seen at the Kitchen of Hope, which she founded 20 years ago. The volunteer-run organization has provided thousands of free meals over the years to the homeless and others in need.

In its heyday, all three buildings at Traders Village were full of vendors, offering a variety of items for sale. You’d find dealers specializing in furniture, home décor, jewelry, toys, video games, movies, NASCAR and sports memorabilia, pets and linens.
