KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts wants you to start thinking about Christmas. And why not? It snowed in April and the temperatures outside feel more like fall than spring.

The 39th annual Christmas Connection will take place the second weekend in November, Friday through Sunday, at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium.

The region’s best arts and crafts vendors will be at the three-day event, where you’ll be able to find a wide variety of specialty items, including primitive and country crafts, Christmas ornaments, pottery, fabric crafts, jewelry and baked goods.

But before the event can be held, the Office of Cultural Arts needs artisans. This is where you come in.

The office recently announced an open call for all artists, artisans, creatives, and craftspeople of all trades to come forward and participate in this year’s Christmas Connection. Applications are now being accepted for those wanting to exhibit in the annual three-day event.

All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, taking various factors into consideration in order to create a high quality, attractive show with a good mix of artistic and crafting creations.

The application deadline is July 1, 2018 and there is no cost to apply.

Nov. 9: Noon to 7 p.m.

Nov. 10: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Nov. 11: Noon to 4 p.m.

Vendor applications can be found at www.KingsportTN.gov or www.EngageKingsport.com.
