Tours of the living drama, which re-creates the last days of Jesus in a walk-through of multiple scenes, start every 15 minutes between 7 and 9 each night, Pastor Jason Ratliff said.
“We’re always looking for new and creative ways to bring the Easter message to life,” Ratilff said. “The idea of an interactive Easter drama immediately captivated me. This goes deeper than hearing a sermon. As you walk through the tour and see the scenes of the last week of Jesus’ life brought to life, you are personally a part of the message, and leave asking yourself, ‘What will I do with all that I have seen?’ A lot of people will come to the drama with a lot of excitement, excitement about seeing their friends in the drama, or excitement about the drama itself. However, once the tour begins, the scenes are so well done and the actors are so into their parts, it’s really amazing at how the excitement for those things fade away, and a different excitement takes over, the excitement of actually being a part of these moments from Scripture.”
Performances will go on rain or shine, Ratliff said, although weather permitting, some of the action takes place outdoors.
The church’s address is 2869 Hilton Road, Gate City, VA.
