Trailing 2-1, the Hilltoppers loaded the bases with a pair of walks and a single. With two outs, Slemp crushed a straight rope to left-center field that hit the wall and plated three runs.
Slemp crossed the plate five pitches later on Conner Hyatt’s RBI single.
Caleb Marmo’s towering home run in the first gave the Hilltoppers their first run. Marmo finished with two hits and scored three times.
CJ Hess had three hits for the Vikings. Peyton Fox added two.
Science Hill (11-7, 6-1) and Tennessee High (16-5, 5-2) meet again Wednesday in Bristol at 6 p.m.

GRAY — Led by Brody Goodman’s 3-for-4 performance, the Trailblazers racked up 16 hits against the Pioneers.
Goodman doubled and also had three runs on the day. Pounding a three-run homer, Hunter Adams joined Anthony Edwards (2 runs, 2 RBIs), Colby Backus (2 runs, 2 RBIs), Cade Elliott (double) and Ben Allen (double) in contributing two hits apiece.
Elliott struck out nine batters in 5 2/3 innings of victorious work from the mound.
The Pioneers’ Cade Larkins ripped a solo home run and went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Sullivan East 11, FCA Flames 2
BLUFF CITY — Perry Casaday stuffed two doubles, two runs and two RBIs into a 2-for-3 output for the Patriots.
Dylan White (double, 2 runs), Ethan Terry (2 RBIs) and Seth Chafin added two hits apiece to the victory. Winning pitcher White yielded two runs in four innings, then Brantley Ellis tallied eight Ks in closing duty.
Alec Henry homered for the Flames.

HAMPTON — Josh Owens and Dalton Rouse teamed to throw a no-hitter in the nightcap of the Bulldogs’ Watauga Valley Conference doubleheader sweep of the Highlanders.
Owens and Rouse combined for 10 strikeouts. Owens had six over five innings before Rouse, in his season pitching debut, had four in securing the final six outs.
Wise Central 12, Ridgeview 0, 5 innings
NORTON — The Warriors exploded for 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning and made quick work of the Wolfpack in a Mountain 7 game.
Ben Brickey doubled, drove in three runs and scored once for Central. Landon Elkins, Ethan Mullins and Logan Sartin had two hits apiece. Evan Stanley plated two runs and stole a pair of bases.
Tyler O’Quin doubled and Gabe Counts and McKenzie Sproles singled to account for the Wolfpack’s hits.
Union 2, Lee 1
BIG STONE GAP — In a game that saw a total of only five hits, Hunter Anderson had a base hit and drove in a run, Cole Mullins also got a hit for the Bears and Austin Gibson crossed home plate twice in the Mountain 7 District win.
Union tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, and tacked on an insurance run in the sixth to pull out the victory. Three Bears pitchers kept Lee in check.
Canaan Phillips took the hard-luck loss. He pitched six innings gave up just three hits and two runs, one of them earned, while striking out 12.
Jonah Hilton drove in Jacob Stewart for the Generals’ run.
Abingdon 11, Gate City 1, 6 innings
KINGSPORT — Tanner Barrs went 3-for-4, including a home run and a triple, with three RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base in the Falcons’ Mountain 7 rout at Hunter Wright Stadium.
Jon Compton launched a solo home run for the Blue Devils, who were outhit 9-6. Carson Jenkins had two of Gate City’s base hits.
Sullivan South 9, Happy Valley 4
ELIZABETHTON — Tara Shivley drove in three runs while finishing 2-for-4 for the Lady Rebels in a Three Rivers Conference win over the host Lady Warriors.
Sullivan South had a six-inning outburst in the top of the sixth inning and outhit Happy Valley 10-6.
Makkenzie Compton homered, scored two runs, plated a pair and walked twice for the Lady Rebels. Nikole Troutman doubled.
Unicoi County 11, Sullivan Central 7
ERWIN — Five fifth-inning runs thrust the Lady Cougars into a 6-5 lead, but Unicoi answered with six in the home half of the inning.
Sam Chavez homered, scored three times and totaled four RBIs in a 2-for-2 effort. Carly Kinsler, who doubled, and Ashtan Vance each contributed two RBIs, and Halie Hawkins coupled three runs with two stolen bases.
Sullivan Central’s Faith Campbell homered, doubled and tallied two RBIs in a 2-for-3, two-run performance. Adding two hits apiece were Sydney Snapp (2 runs), Alexa Chandler (double, 2 RBIs) and Jasmine Sheffield.
David Crockett 6, Volunteer 2
JONESBOROUGH — With Kara Weems hurling a four-hitter and Ashlyn Dulaney knocking across three runs, David Crockett triumphed in Big 7 Conference play.
Surrendering just one earned run, Weems tallied four strikeouts against three walks. Dulaney went 2-for-3 and Alyssa Suits had a pair of RBIs.
With Volunteer pitcher Sydney Allen (2 Ks, 1 BB) also proving effective, both teams managed only four hits. The Lady Falcons, however, committed six errors that equated to five unearned runs for Crockett.
Sullivan East 7, Johnson County 4
BLUFF CITY — Cayden Bawgus won it with a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh.
Chelsea Sams and Kylee Wolf joined Bawgus, who finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, in the home run department for the Lady Patriots.
Emma Timbs went 2-for-3 and Sams, who also doubled, was 2-for-4. Katelyne Loudy went the distance.
Abingdon 5, Gate City 4
GATE CITY — Ashley Linkous went 3-for-4 and picked up the win for the Lady Falcons.
Avery Jordan and Morgan Baker homered for the Lady Blue Devils.
Dobyns-Bennett 8, David Crockett 0
JONESBOROUGH — Will Arrowood pulled off a hat trick in the Indians’ blanking of the host Pioneers.
Spencer Correll had two goals and two assists, and Jack Perry and Sam Garcia each scored a goal.
D-B took 24 shots, half of them on goal, in the District 1-AAA match.
Jack Roney made five saves for David Crockett.
Science Hill 9, Tennessee High 0
Johnson City — Nick Cahoon powered his way to a four-goal night in the Hilltoppers’ District 1-AAA win at Tipton Stadium.
Ethan DiSantis also had two early goals for the ’Toppers, who led 6-0 at halftime.
Tennessee High had just two shots total all game, both in the first half.
