Ridgeview girls race off with program's 100th win

RICHLANDS — The Ridgeview girls basketball team didn’t waste time giving the program its 100th victory.

The Lady Wolfpack led 18-8 after one quarter and 36-16 at halftime on the way to a 70-35 win over host Richlands on Monday.

Hailey Sutherland filled the stat book with 15 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots for Ridgeview (13-4). Brooklyn Frazier added an all-around effort of 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, five steals and four blocks, and Cassidy Thomas accounted for 12 points and six rebounds.

Hannah Dotson contributed nine points and Shae Sutherland and Camdyn Sykes each scored eight for Ridgeview, which next plays Friday at home against Mountain 7 District rival Wise Central.

Denissa Ball had eight points and Rachel Rife scored seven for the Lady Blue Tornado.


MOSHEIM — Macy McDavid scored 17 points to spur the Lady Chiefs to the victory.

Sam Tilson totaled 11 points and Kaylan Henard added eight for Cherokee, which led 47-26 before easing off the throttle in the fourth quarter.

Christianna Ricker led West Greene with 10 points.



MOSHEIM -— The Chiefs outscored the Buffaloes 18-3 in the final quarter to pull away for the nonconference win.

Breiydon Gilliam led Cherokee with 15 points, followed by Jonathon Fulkerson with 13 and Carter Metz with 11.

Ethan Turner knocked down four 3-pointers to lead West Greene with 12 points.
