Bill Hodson celebrated his 80th birthday with his family at a special dinner this past week.
Bill was born April 9, 1938, to his parents Roy and Ann Hodson. He grew up in Wilson, now named West Haven, and attended Wilson Elementary, Wahlquist Jr. High, graduating from Weber High School. He served in the United States Army for two years.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served in various callings during his life - Home Teacher, Sunday School, a member of the High Council, Bishopric and High Priest leadership.
Bill has been involved with horses all his life, making his living shoeing horses. He rodeoed from an early age and also trained horses. Some of his favorite times were spent in his arena with his sons teaching them to rodeo and train their own horses. He loves and enjoys his grandchildren.
Bill was a member of the Wasatch Slopes Chariot Association where he was the starter for the cutter and chariot races for many years.
He married Judy Robinson December 1, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of three special sons and daughters-in-law: Clay and Leisa, Brad and Karen and Justin and Cami. They have been blessed with 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Bill has a brother, Dean and Renae Hodson; a sister, Shirley Frost Rhees and Bill Rhees; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Robinson and Kathie Robinson. Don also has brothers-in-law, Brent Frost, Kent Robinson and Mike Robinson; all deceased.
