KINGSPORT —Hundreds of people turned out Saturday afternoon for the “Hop To It Easter Egg Hunt” presented by Preaching Christ Church and Food City. The main attraction: egg hunts for three age groups with a combined total of 23,000 Easter eggs up for grabs on the playground of Andrew Johnson Elementary School.

The event, free and open to the public, also included free food, inflatable attractions for children, face painting, games, photo ops with the Easter Bunny, and drawings for Dollywood season passes, an iPad, a basketball goal, bicycles and more. Next weekend the church will host “Rise Together,’ a “community Sunday for families” at the Kingsport Farmers Market downtown.
