KINGSPORT — On Monday, Oct. 19, the staff and faculty at Ketron Elementary School received an early Christmas gift. Walmart, in conjunction with a grandparent of one of our students, Michelle Kerney, donated $1,000 to the staff. Because of the generosity of Walmart and the involvement of a dedicated grandparent, each grade level received $150 to spend on their students and the needs of that grade level. Teachers Tonya Sowers and Julie Nottingham were recipients of an additional $50 gift card for exhibiting dedication and care to Michelle’s grandchildren.

The faculty and staff at Ketron Elementary are very grateful for the blessing we were given through community support. Ketron thanks Walmart and Michelle for putting our students first and working with our school to provide the best for our students.
