Farewell social for WSU president Charles Wight to be held Friday afternoon

OGDEN — Say goodbye to outgoing Weber State University Charles Wight at a farewell social Friday. 

Wight, who announced Jan. 18 he was stepping down after five years at Weber State, is moving to be president of Salisbury University in Maryland. His appointment is effective July 1.

The social will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Stewart Bell Tower Plaza. Remarks are scheduled at 3 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.

Free parking is available in lot A2. Permits will not be required after 2 p.m. 

In the case of inclement weather, the social will be held at the Tracy Hall Science Center. 

In lieu of gifts, donations can be made to the Dream Weber scholarship fund in the name of Chuck Wight and Victoria Rasmussen.
