— A deputy was called to Ridge Road due to a man “lying in the road yelling at cars.” The suspect was found “talking out of his head” and admitted to taking three prescription pain pills — all while conceding that doing so “was a bad idea.” He was arrested for public intoxication.

— A Kingsport resident named a man who arrived at his home with several unknown males. All of the suspects then  began “throwing rocks through the windows” of his house. He claimed one of the men also fired a gun, but police found no evidence of shots being fired.

— The manager of Super 8 in Lynn Garden called police about occupants who “would not leave.” When officers spoke with the subjects, they found their room contained 30 syringes — nine of which were loaded with drugs — and more than 7 grams of meth. Both suspects were arrested.

Jan. 14

— On West Stone Drive, an officer observed a motorist pass a school bus that was stopped with its lights flashing and sign extended. A stop of the vehicle found the driver’s license was suspended, netting his arrest.

Jan. 16

— A loss prevention officer called police to Walmart on West Stone Drive, saying a woman had stolen nearly $700 in merchandise. When confronted by employees as she attempted to roll out a buggy, she pulled a knife and threatened to cut them, then fled empty-handed. The suspect was identified — due to her previously being banned from the store — and warrants were obtained for aggravated assault and theft.

— As a man paid for fuel inside a West Stone Drive market, he spotted an unknown woman get into his Civic, which was parked at the pumps. When he ran outside to confront her, she accelerated away, nearly striking him. The victim told police he had left the doors unlocked, keys in the ignition and engine running. A similar incident occurred earlier in the day on Allen Drive. A resident left a car warming up in the driveway, then exited the home to find the vehicle gone.
