The victim, who is 20 weeks pregnant, told Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Michael Allen that her family is helping her take up residence at a mobile home in Mount Carmel.
Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, her ex-boyfriend, Charles Joshua Porter, 22, 1419 Long Hollow road, Nicklesville, Virginia, was helping her install a dryer.
She stated that an argument began because he knows she is seeing someone new. During the argument Porter allegedly took her phone and got into his pickup to leave.
"She opened the door to get her phone back and was halfway in the truck when he pulled out," Allen stated in his report. "He put her in a head-lock and was pulling her hair as he was driving down Hammond Avenue toward 11-W. She got her phone back from him and threw it out of the truck into a grassy area."
Allen added, "She stated that at one point he slowed down to turn around and she opened the door and got out."
The victim reportedly ran to a residence on Hammond Avenue and called 911.
Later that night she reportedly received calls and texts from Porter and some of his friends threatening to burn down her trailer and damage her car.
Wednesday morning the victim awoke to of her tires had the valve stems cut off and were flat.
"The complainant is 20 weeks pregnant and is in fear that if this situation continues to escalate she may lose the child," Allen stated in his report.
Porter was arrested Wednesday evening in Mount Carmel. Aside form two counts of reckless endangerment he was charged with domestic assault.
As of Thursday Porter was being held in the Hawkins County Jail with no bond set pending his arraignment Monday in Sessions Court.
