Shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies Kyle Shively and Daniel Desormeaux located Shane Douglas Hall on Highway 11-W near the East Main Street intersection.
The deputies determined that Hall was under the influence and attempted to take him into custody, but Hall allegedly pulled away and attempted to run before being arrested.
A victim stated that Hall ran out in the middle of 11-W toward his truck, forcing the victim to swerve onto the shoulder to miss Hall.
Hall then allegedly jumped on the hood of the victim’s 2008 Ford F-150 pickup, causing a dent — and then started hitting the front windshield and screaming obscenities.
The victim stated that during the incident Hall’s mouth was “completely orange.”
Hall then jumped off the hood, broke (the victim’s) side mirror, continued screaming and hit the driver’s side window.
Aside from vandalism over $1,000, Hall, 177 N. Brummitt St., Rogersville, was also charged with resisting arrest and public intoxication.
Last month Hall, 28, was sentenced in Hawkins County Sessions Court to 30 days in jail, 11 month and 29 days of probation and $4,756 in fines and fees in exchange for guilty pleas to two counts of misdemeanor drug possession, aggravated criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Monday, Hall was ordered held in the Hawkins County Jail without bond on his new charges pending a preliminary hearing set for July 29.
