Two of the passengers, including a 16-year-old boy from Rogersville and a 16-year-old girl from Whitesburg, were airlifted via rescue helicopter to Johnson City Medical Center.
The third passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Whitesburg, was transported via Hawkins County EMS to Holston Valley Medical Center. None of their conditions were released.
Around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, a 1999 Toyota Prism driven by 25-year-old Brandon Levi McGee was traveling north on Melinda Ferry Road just north of St. Clair Elementary School when the crash occurred.
According to a report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, McGee attempted a left turn onto Mount Zion Church Road and turned into the path of a southbound 2014 Toyota SXC driven by Mark Buttry, 26, Rogersville.
The front of Buttry’s vehicle reportedly struck the right side center portion of McGee’s vehicle.
Buttry was transported to Hawkins County Memorial Hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, but McGee wasn’t injured.
McGee, 715 W. Broadway St., Rogersville, was charged with DUI, four counts of aggravated assault, failure to yield right of way resulting in serious injury, failure to maintain due care, driving on a revoked license, and seatbelt violation.
As of Wednesday, McGee was being held in the Hawkins County Jail on $30,000 bond pending an appearance Monday in Sessions Court.
