Road closures for the TriPride Parade and Festival

KINGSPORT — A number of downtown streets will be closed or partially closed for Saturday’s TriPride Parade and Festival.


In order to prepare for the event, the following roads will be closed to traffic on Friday starting at 8 p.m. These roads will remain closed throughout the duration of the event Saturday evening:

· Clinchfield Street at Center Street and Shelby Street

· Market Street will be closed at Shelby Street

· Revere Street will be closed at the alley

· Clay Street will be closed at the alley

On Saturday, the following areas will be closed to traffic:

· Closures listed above from Friday evening

· Main Street from Shelby Street to Sullivan Street

· All side streets leading into Main Street from Market Street

Main Street closures along with the side streets along the parade route will reopen at the conclusion of the parade. The closures around the Higher Education Center Parking lot will reopen at the conclusion of the event Saturday evening.


The parade begins at 11 a.m. at the corner of Main Street and Island Street and will continue along Main Street to Clay Street.

Festival time is 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will take place at the Higher Education Center parking lot (Clinchfield Street) and includes the surrounding areas: Clinchfield Street from Clay Street to Center Street and Market Street from Clinchfield Street to Clay Street.

In the interest of safety for everyone involved, the Kingsport Police Department will not discuss any particular details regarding security for TriPride, other than to say there will be a significant police presence at this event just as there would be at any other large festival or parade.
