Kingsport police asking for help locating Hawkins County man

Staff Report • May 22, 2020 at 9:27 PM

KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Police Department is asking for help in locating a missing Hawkins County man.

The missing man is 38-year-old Nicholas L. Massengill. According to a press release from the KPD, Massengill was reported missing on the morning of May 19 by a family member who advised he had not been seen or heard from by relatives, friends or coworkers since April 27.

Although there is no known reason to suspect foul play at this time, being out of contact for such an extended period is reportedly out of character for Massengill, the release said.

He was last seen on foot in the area of Brookside Drive in Kingsport, allegedly walking toward his residence in the Surgoinsville area of Hawkins County. He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs roughly 200 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes.

If you have seen him or know his current whereabouts, the KPD asks you to contact the Detective Division at (423) 229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at (423) 246-9111. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to be identified, you can provide information about this matter, or any other case, by submitting a tip anonymously via the online “Citizen Feedback” form.
