KINGSPORT — Ashlyn Dulaney launched a tiebreaking, two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning on Friday, ushering David Crockett toward a 6-2 Big 7 Conference softball victory over Dobyns-Bennett.

Dulaney’s one-out blast broke a 2-2 tie, and the Lady Pioneers padded their lead when Jenna Davis stroke a two-run single.

Kara Weems dominated from the circle, allowing just two hits. One was Kassidy Miller’s first-inning single that brought in two runs, both unearned.

Alyssa Suits cut Crockett’s deficit in half with an RBI double in the third. An inning later, Dulaney scored on an error by the D-B catcher.

Weems paced a 10-hit Lady Pioneers output, going 3-for-4 with a double.
