A long line of people gathered at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday morning for its 15th annual back-to-school clothes closet, which provides clothes and shoes to children in need. First Presbyterian has operated a clothes closet since the late 1950s and accepts donations from its members and the community at large. The church is also gearing up for its “Cleaning Out for Good” yard sale on Aug. 17, with proceeds supporting storyteller Bill Harley’s visit to Roosevelt Elementary School on Oct. 3. Donations for the yard sale can be dropped off at the church fellowship hall anytime the week of Aug. 11.
