Eight students at TCAT Elizabethton were medalists in the recent SkillsUSA state competition held in Chattanooga. Gold medalists advance to the national SkillsUSA competition, June 20-24, in Louisville, Kentucky. Receiving gold medals were Dustin Curtis and Joe Eggers of Carter County and Hunter Rice of Unicoi in Millwright Action Skills and Ashley Vance, also of Carter County, in Customer Service. Silver medalist was Abigail Fowler of Carter County in Cosmetology. Bronze medalists were Jerry Kramer of Carter County and Max Burgner of Washington County in Welding, and David Floyd of Carter County in Telecommunications Cabling.
