BLOUNTVILLE — If tentative plans work out, Sullivan County Schools would have a new director by about May 1, giving the new director two months to shadow retiring Director Evelyn Rafalowski.
“I don’t know that I ever thought it (being director of schools) would last more than four years,” Rafalowski said.
Commissioner Sherry Grubb is primary sponsor of the resolution. And until a few days ago, her co-sponsor was Commissioner Mark Vance. But at the commission’s work session last week, Vance asked that his name be removed.
Sullivan County’s school board is pleased with the first-year service from Director of Schools Evelyn Rafalowski, based on an evaluation of 19 standards.
