The new 1st Congressional District representative on the Tennessee Board of Regents is a familiar face around Kingpsort and the Tri-Cities, the head of the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and a former Marine. Gov. Bill Haslam appointed Miles Burdine to the TBR, which governs the state’s community colleges and Tennessee Centers of Applied Technology.
In presenting the awards for the Kingsport Board of Education Thursday night, Superintendent of Schools Ailshie said the inaugural recipients embody community stakeholders who support the school system, its mission and its vision.
