At 5 a.m., an employee arriving to Home Depot noticed tire tracks around a security gate. They then spotted a pickup — merchandise "overflowing" from its bed — as it traveled across the parking lot and slammed through the closed fencing.

Facebook threats spur arrest of Kingsport 'clown'

Police were alerted to a Kingsport man’s Facebook video, in which he dons a clown mask and makes “indirect threats to kill people” with a machete. About 12 hours later, officers spotted the suspect walking along West Stone Drive, again with the mask over his head.

A man and woman visited a John B. Dennis car lot to test-drive used vehicles. Both were told to be back in 10 minutes, but the male didn’t return his car for half an hour. The second vehicle — a 2004 Nissan Titan, taken by the female — was never returned.

At 1:45 a.m., police were alerted to a burglary in progress at Gastroenterology Associates, located across from Holston Valley Medical Center. Surveillance video indicated the suspect was on the fourth floor "crouching and crawling through the offices."
