ATVers, get ready to hit the trails in Haysi

• Apr 3, 2017 at 5:45 PM

It's almost time to take to the trails in Haysi.

The grand opening of the Ridgeview ATV Trail System will take place on Saturday, April 8. The official ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the trailhead near Kiwanis Park and include food vendors and special festivities.

Riders of ATVs, dirt bikes and mountain bikes — as well as hikers — are invited to hit the trails free on opening day. Horses are not allowed on the trails.

Spearhead Trails will provide information and waivers to riders about the trail and rules for riding all ATV trails in the Coalfield Region. Helmets are required to ride all five official Spearhead ATV Trail Systems in the region.

The Ridgeview system, in Virginia’s Dickenson County, opens with more than 60 miles of trails with a mix of beginner, intermediate and expert routes.

For information about Spearhead Trails, visit the company’s website at SpearheadTrails.com or call (276) 220-9875.
