If you love a parade, it’s your day Saturday across Sullivan County.

There are parades in Bloomingdale, Blountville and Bluff City. And if you pace yourself and time it just right, you can probably enjoy all of them.

Here’s a partial rundown of what, when and where:

Bloomingdale Ruritan Christmas Parade

• “The Greatest Gift” is the theme of the annual Bloomingdale Ruritan Community Christmas Parade. Festivities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ketron Elementary School.

Blountville Ruritan Christmas Parade

• Described as one of the biggest parades in the area, you won't want to miss this annual event hosted by the Blountville Ruritan Club. Lineup starts at Keystone Drive at 1 p.m. and the parade starts at 2 p.m. It will proceed on The Great Stage Road right through the heart of the Blountville Historic District. There is no Registration fee. Floats, vehicles and other entries must be decorated with a Christmas theme. But no Santas allowed on floats as the only Santa will be at the end of the parade. For additional questions, contact the Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism at (423) 323-4660.

Old Deery Inn - Christmas Tours

• Come see the magic of Christmas as you tour Historic Blountville's Old Deery Inn. Tours will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and are $5 per adult, and $3 for students.

Bluff City Christmas Parade

• This year's theme is "The Twelve Days of Christmas." The parade, down Main Street, starts at 5 p.m. and floats will line up at 4 p.m. at Bluff City Middle School. Emergency Vehicles will line up at the Elementary School and cars will line up behind the Methodist Church on Smith Street. Please, no Santa's on floats as Santa will be on the City Float only. Judges Choice Awards will be given for floats as follows: 1st Place $100; 2nd Place $50; 3rd Place $25. Car and trucks will be judge and plaques given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

"Down Home Mountain Christmas"

• A benefit concert by Appalachian Express Chorus and "Build a Better Blountville" at Blountville Baptist Church, 3358 Hwy. 126. Come hear the sounds of Christmas as you've never heard it before. Proceeds will support community programs for Build a Better Blountville, a new 501C3 non-profit organization with the goal to improve Blountville through an active community. Suggested donations are $10 per person. This event is sponsored by the Sullivan County Historical Preservation Association.
