The Downtown Kingsport Wine & Whiskey Festival brought a crowd of 500 or so to the Kingsport Farmers Market on Saturday afternoon, event organizers estimated. The three-hour, ticketed event offered participants the chance to sample up to 80 wines. The VIP room, hosted by Mountain Region Family Medicine, P.C., offered some higher end wines and a buffet provided by Southern Craft and Buttermilk Sky. But the big draw in the VIP room was 20 or more bourbons available for sample from the event's overall lead sponsor: B&B Package. The store carries a full line of liquors, but has become known throughout the region as the "go to" source for rare, unusual, and specialty bourbons. The event is the Downtown Kingsport Association's primary fundraiser each year. It is in its fifth year as an event featuring wine. This was its first year including the whiskey and also its first year at the Farmers Market. Live music was provided by Jeff Lane and Jim Trampe.
